Lake House Rentals in New Mexico

New Mexico is the most underappreciated state in the country when it comes to natural beauty. However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since most people don't take the time to learn more about this tranquil paradise, it allows for more space and enjoyment. As is the case with anywhere else in the country, if you truly want the best out of any vacation experience, then you need to rent a home on a lake. By doing so, your views are going to be superb and you're going to have many more options when it comes to activities. Some people like to sit on the porch and read a book. Others would prefer to canoe, kayak, fish or swim. We'll cover the best places for a lake house rental in New Mexico so you don't have to do any homework. You can simply use the information here and enjoy your vacation.

If you want to rent a lake house in New Mexico and you're looking for a relaxing and amenity-rich experience, then look in Chama. This location is only well known by those who live in the area. Otherwise, it's a well-kept secret. Chama is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains and right on the Colorado border. It's a place where you will find the freshest air in the country, the best fishing available anywhere thanks to make clean lakes and rivers, thousands of Ponderosa pines, bald eagle as well as greenery and flowers almost everywhere you turn. If you would like to rent a lake house in Chama, then look on Heron Lake and/or El Vado Lake.

Many of the rental homes in this area are cabins. However, those aren't the only options. If you choose to go with a cabin then you will likely be pleased. These aren't like most rental cabins across the United States where the cabins are left alone for the majority of the year. Rental cabins in Chama have a reputation for being well maintained. Landlords know this leads to more business. Another bonus is that the value for rental cabins in Chama is superb. Let's also keep in mind that many of these rental cabins are right on the lake, which means they qualify as lake house rentals.

If you go with a cabin on the lake, there are certain features and amenities you should expect to find. You're most likely to find a stone fireplace, an outdoor hot tub, a porch with rocking chairs, at least 2 acres of land, mountain views and possibly cottonwood trees. Pets are usually allowed.

If you would prefer a traditional lake house rental in Chama, then you should expect to find at least 2,000 square feet of space, a minimum of 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and cherry cabinets, a wraparound deck, a grill, a pool and possibly more than 20 acres of land to explore and enjoy.

Attractions in the area include Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, El Vado State Park and the unique Girasol Gift Shop. Activity options include hiking, water skiing, fishing, boating, cross-country skiing, kayaking, canoeing and rock climbing.
